1st Advantage Dental New England offers several dental services to accommodate our patient's needs and it all starts with an outstanding dental team. At 1st Advantage Dental we strive for excellent patient care.
Preventative - These services include cleanings, xrays, exams, sealants, flouride and space maintainers. Each of these services will help prevent dental disease, along with regular brushing and flossing.
Fillings or Restorations - A filling or restoration is a variety of materials that restores a tooth to its original shape after a dentist has removed decay from the tooth. Materials used can range from composite resins (white fillings) to amalgams (silver fillings).
Crown and Bridge - These are two restorative techniques that repair damaged or missing teeth. They restore tooth function and appearance. The use of crowns and bridges also avoids the shifting of teeth that can happen after a tooth is lost. By maintaining or restoring the patient's bite and their smile, the effects of the tooth damage or loss are reversed.
Dentures and Partial Dentures - Complete dentures are used to replace teeth when there are no teeth remaining. The teeth are prefabricated acrylic which come in many sizes, shapes and shades. They are processed into a custom made acrylic base which is made to comfortably fit the gum tissue in your mouth. A partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth. It is important that these teeth be healthly in order to support your partial. Often they may need treatment prior to making the partial.
Endodontics - This area deals with diseases of the pulp, or nerve of the tooth. Treatment performed commonly involves root canal therapy or a "root canal".
Periodontics - The treatment of Periodontal Disease deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gums and bones surrounding the teeth. Periodontal disease, if left untreated, can destroy the bone and surrounding tissues of the teeth leading to possible tooth loss and an unattractive smile.
Cosmetic Dental Procedures - This is the art and science of enhancing the appearance of the teeth using a wide range of techniques that may include: restoration, placement, straightening, crowing, bridging, bonding or whitening. Four common procedures in cosmetic dentistry are bleaching, veneers, microabraison and bonding. Through cosmetic dentistry, we are able to correct certain flaws in the appearance of your smile. With these corrections, your smile is restored -- so is your self-confidence!
Implant Restoration - Dental implants are today's best option for people who have experienced tooth loss. It's a fabulous alternative to dentures as these are permanent "teeth" that look and function like natural teeth. Dental implants are small anchoring devices that are implanted directly into the jawbone. Artificial teeth are attached directly to the implanted devices creating what looks and feels like natural teeth. For people wishing to keep their dentures, dental implants act as stabilizing devices that add comfort and security by keeping dentures from slipping.
